what is it like getting seasick when you live on a boat?

We left port Angeles yesterday and I am writing the blog for that day today because it was so rough out. We wanted to get to Neah bay last night but it would have been too long (we were going much slower than expected) and too risky to get in with no visibility. Instead, we arrived in an anchorage just as the sun was about to go down that had no coverage.  The weather was rough that night and I had an awful stomach ache from getting seasick five times. The rest of the crew has a stomach of iron as no one else got sick. I could not even take seasick medicine as nothing would stay in my stomach. So you can imagine how terrible that crossing was. So much for avoiding that storm in port Angeles. We found later that we had avoided better weather for worse weather. When we got into the "bay" mum was awesome and made pancakes for dinner. (yum)
This morning I woke up in Neah bay still feeling pretty awful as a side effect from yesterday. The weather is calm and I'm feeling much better now.
I've been thinking about what I wrote last blog post (about finishing and submitting two assignments per day.) Maybe that's not possible when the weather is rough so it might take me longer to finish school then if the weather was always good and I always have a good internet connection.
Today I've spent the day doing a little bit of cleaning up but mostly recovering from a bad day at sea and enjoying the good weather.
I've just helped my dad with our staysail. We hoisted it up while the sail enjoyed hitting us in the face as we struggle to remember how to tie a knot. we did it (sort of...yay) now I'm going to spend the evening eating dinner and downloading school for the next few days as we are going off shore for a few days while I have a good connection. Maybe I'll write another post today if I get the chance. See you next blog post. 😃
